Copyright and Content

• You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and translate any book content
• You must comply with all applicable copyright laws and regulations
• EchoRead takes no responsibility for the books or content that users upload to the platform
• You agree not to upload copyrighted material without proper authorization

Account Usage

• Provide accurate and truthful information when creating your account
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
• Use the service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or misuse the platform

Free Tier

New accounts receive a one-time free allowance:

• 3 content creations in total (a creation is one AI-generated story, lesson, note, writing practice, or vocabulary story)
• 1 learning plan (roadmap) in total
• 30 saved vocabulary words at any one time
• 500,000 translation credits in total

These free allowances are lifetime totals granted once per account. They do not reset monthly and are not replenished. Once any allowance is exhausted, a subscription is required to continue using the affected feature.

Story narration and writing practice are not included in the free tier and require a paid subscription.

Subscription Plans

We offer two subscription tiers, billed monthly or yearly. Allowances are granted per monthly billing cycle and reset at the start of each cycle.

Super Plan:

• 30 content creations per month
• 3 learning plans per month
• Unlimited saved vocabulary words
• 3,000,000 translation credits per month

Unlimited Plan:

• 50 content creations per month
• 10 learning plans per month
• Unlimited saved vocabulary words
• 20,000,000 translation credits per month

Yearly subscriptions receive the same monthly allowances, reset each month for the duration of the subscription.

All subscription plans include unlimited reading, all supported languages, phrase-by-phrase translations, AI-powered story and lesson generation, smart vocabulary features, story narration, writing practice, audio translations, saved phrases, and priority support.

How Allowances Are Consumed

• A content creation is consumed when you generate a story, lesson, note, writing practice, or vocabulary story. If generation fails for technical reasons, the creation is returned to your allowance. Deleting content you have already created does not return the creation.
• A learning plan allowance is consumed when a plan is created. Deleting a learning plan does not return the allowance.
• Content generated as part of a learning plan step does not consume separate content creations.
• Translation credits are consumed by AI translation, tutor chat, story narration, and content generation, in proportion to the amount of text processed.
• Allowances are enforced per account and are not transferable between accounts.

Service Changes

We reserve the right to modify our pricing, plans, or service features. Continued use of the service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Teacher accounts are specialized accounts designed for educators who want to manage students on the EchoRead platform. The following terms apply specifically to teacher accounts.

Account Type and Access

• Teacher accounts are specialized accounts for educators managing student learning
• Access is limited to the Teacher Dashboard and Student Management pages
• Teacher accounts do not include access to main platform reading features (book reading, stories, lessons)
• Teacher accounts cannot be used for personal language learning purposes

Subscription and Billing

• Teacher subscriptions are purchased via manual invoice from EchoRead
• Each invoice includes a specific number of student seats
• Billing occurs on a monthly cycle
• To modify your subscription (add seats, cancel, etc.), contact EchoRead directly

Student Management

• Teachers can add students up to their purchased seat limit
• Students are added via their email address
• New accounts are created automatically for students without existing EchoRead accounts
• Students receive login credentials via email upon being added
• Restriction: Users with active personal subscriptions cannot be added as students
• Seat Lock: Students are locked to the teacher's account until the end of the current billing cycle and cannot be removed before then

Student Access and Benefits

• Students inherit the teacher's subscription tier and usage limits
• Student token usage is reset when first added to a teacher's account (including existing users)
• Token usage resets at the start of each monthly billing cycle
• Expiration: When the teacher's subscription expires, all students immediately lose platform access

Privacy and Data Visibility

• Teachers have full visibility into student reading activity
• This includes: pages read, vocabulary saved, and learning progress metrics
• Teachers are responsible for informing students about this data collection

Consent Requirements

• Teachers must obtain appropriate consent from students (or guardians for minors) before adding them to the platform
• Students must accept EchoRead Terms of Use upon their first login
• Teachers are responsible for ensuring students meet the platform's age requirements (16+)
• For students under 18, teachers must verify that parental or guardian consent has been obtained

Billing and Payment

• Subscriptions are billed according to the schedule provided by your selected payment provider (Apple or Stripe)
• When purchasing through Apple, billing follows the terms and renewal cadence of your Apple account subscription
• For Apple auto-renewable subscriptions, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation, renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and renewal charges occur within 24 hours prior to the end of the period
• When purchasing through Stripe, billing occurs on the renewal dates shown at checkout and in your account
• You authorize us and the applicable payment provider to charge your chosen payment method on each billing cycle
• All prices are in USD unless otherwise specified

Credit Usage

Translation credits and monthly allowances are consumed when you use our AI features. For paid subscriptions, unused credits and allowances do not roll over between billing periods and reset at the beginning of each monthly billing cycle. Free-tier allowances are one-time lifetime totals and do not reset.

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You will continue to have access to subscription features until the end of the paid period
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
• For Apple subscriptions, manage or cancel auto-renewal in iOS by going to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions and turning off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends; Apple handles all billing adjustments for those purchases

Subscription Expiration (Web App)

When a user's subscription expires, they can no longer access the service further until they renew their subscription.

Subscription Expiration (Mobile App)

When a user's subscription expires, they can no longer create new stories, lessons, or upload books. However, they retain access to all previously created materials and can continue reading them with translations using any remaining credits. Once the subscription is renewed, the user's credits are automatically recharged to the monthly allowance included in their plan tier.
